Board Announcement - Changes in Leadership

Fellow Mountain supporters,

Your Board of Trustees has been working hard over the last several weeks to help chart the course of The Mountain through these uncertain times. Our goal is to cultivate a highly effective and collaborative community of staff and volunteers that helps The Mountain thrive, consistent with its Mission and Vision, through the COVID era and beyond.

In the course of these conversations, we have decided that The Mountain is in a place where new leadership – and perhaps new leadership structures – is called for. Consequently, Ted Wisniewski’s tenure as The Mountain’s Executive Director will come to a close on October 15.

We believe that strong leadership is particularly critical at this time, and are in the process of identifying an acting Executive Director who can provide this for our organization. The acting Executive Director will be named on or shortly after October 15. Concurrently, we are discussing potential structural changes and the search process for finding leadership to take The Mountain into the future.

Please be assured that, while there is still much uncertainty in our business due to the impacts of COVID-19, The Mountain remains in a sound financial position. There is also much to continue to be excited about with Mountain programming and outreach to the broader community.

The Board of Trustees is grateful to Ted for his leadership over the past eight years. His attention to sound fiscal management and increased transparency with donors and stakeholders has provided a firm foundation upon which we can take this next step. We wish Ted all the best in his future endeavors.

Thank you Ted

With gratitude for your support of The Mountain,

K.C. Boyce

Chair, Board of Trustees
