The annual fall retreat for members of SEUUMA will include 6 hours of ministerial development time led by Rev. Meghann Robern.  Her workshop is entitled "Detangling Our Callings from Neoliberal Capitalist Regimes". 

Rev. Robern says this about her ministry:

“I'm an unrepentant nerd who likes to talk about how speculative fiction and art can transform lives. In addition to being fellowshipped Unitarian Universalist clergy and an academic, I'm a cisgender and queer woman, wife, mom, gamer, and white colonizer on Indigenous land. I have served on a task force for the Canadian Unitarian Council and am completing four years of service on the executive board of the UU Ministers of Canada in May 2023. Before the privilege of joining the PhD program in English, Theatre, Film & Media at the University of Manitoba, I worked in the music industry, the film/tv business, the non-profit sector, and congregational ministry. My PhD research is in decolonizing our future by analyzing how white exceptionalism and imperialism were reified in speculative fiction and theology during the 19th and early 20th centuries.”

And, we know that folks need a break when they come to the mountain, so there will be a healthy amount of unstructured time, too.
