Offerings From Friends of The Mountain
In these challenging and changing times with many distractions, we can easily miss the invitations of Spirit//the universe//the still small voice within, guiding us towards meaning and purpose.
Consider making time to intentionally pull attention inward, and explore with a spiritual companion.
Nancy Bragg and Berry Shepherd are spiritual companions, who completed the interfaith Spiritual Guidance program at the UU Retreat Center in Rowe, MA.
They are graciously offering monthly one-hour one-on-one spiritual companionship sessions through July to those who donate to The Mountain. Sessions are available for a sliding scale donation to The Mountain of $25+/session (going WNC rate is $50-$60 per session).

Nancy Bragg – I was raised Presbyterian and began my spiritual exploration as a Unitarian Universalist in 1986. I serve my UU congregation in Asheville, NC by co-facilitating a grief group and a women’s covenant group, co-facilitating multigenerational Being Spiritual activities, and setting a spiritual tone for our Justice Ministry meetings. I have experience as a certified life coach and an educator.
In spiritual companioning sessions, those I companion share what’s present in their lives (struggles, joys, connections, yearnings, etc.), while I create and hold sacred space, listen from my heart, gently pose challenging questions, and offer observations and insights. In the process of discerning together, folks gain spiritual guidance, deeper understanding, and greater awareness of who they are and what’s sacred in the everyday.

Berry Shepherd - I have been a practicing Tibetan Buddhist for 25 years, was a nun for several months, and currently attend Unity of the Blue Ridge in Mills River, NC. I completed an apprenticeship in the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition, and am a hospice volunteer.
I love to serve others who are engaging in their own questioning and growth, through deep listening, gentle stimulation through conversation, and respectful, compassionate caring. I enjoy serving people of all faiths, women and men, of all ages. My special interests include incorporating personal ritual for the purpose of integrating our wisdom, sharing a variety of meditation techniques and spiritual practices, assisting the individual's discernment during their exploration of faith and beliefs, and helping each person discover their own value and strengths.
