The Mountain Retreat and Learning Center remains vigilant

about offering a safe and hospitable experience for our guests.

We thank you for your trust and your partnership.

We look forward to welcoming and inspiring you during your visit.

Measures The Mountain Is Taking:

  • Physical Distancing:

    • Guests are encouraged to follow health guidelines on social distancing, maintaining at least 6 feet apart at all times.

    • For the safety of all guests, The Mountain will be operating at  limited capacity, based upon the meeting spaces that will be utilized and in accordance with the recommendations of the CDC and the NC Department of Public Health.

    • Guests traveling without a friend or partner that they are comfortable being housed with are encouraged to book a single occupancy, private room.

  • Cleaning & Hygiene Measures:

    • All vulnerable hard surfaces will undergo a deep cleaning with antibacterial cleaners each day, with special attention to doorways and doorknobs, counters, handrails and other surfaces.

    • Please pack and carry with you your own mask. If you do not have a mask one will be provided for you. Masks will be required when entering the Mountain's Main Office and Gift Shop space, as well as in the Dining Hall line to receive your meals. Once you have moved through the cafeteria line masks may be removed for dining. During "in session" time the use of  masks is not required by The Mountain and is up to the discretion of the event leaders.

    • Mountain Staff will wear protective masks or face covering as long as it is recommended by the CDC.

    • The Mountain will provide dedicated hand sanitizing stations throughout campus. However, we do recommend bringing your own personal hand sanitizer with you.

    • Staff and Volunteers arriving at The Mountain will wash hands and/or sanitize hands immediately upon arrival.

  • Guest Screening:

    • All Guests will be required to have their temperature taken at arrival. Guests who exhibit a body temperature over 100.4 degrees will be asked to return home or to quarantine on site overnight. In this instance appropriate refunds will be issued.

    • All Guests will be asked to fill out a liability waiver upon arrival.

Click here to view the waiver.

If possible, we recommend you download and print

a waiver to complete before arriving at The Mountain.

  • Employee & Volunteer Screening:

    • All Mountain Staff and Volunteers will be regularly screened and will be sent home for quarantine if exhibiting any symptoms as outlined in the Governor’s standard health protocols.

    • Mountain Staff will wear protective masks or face covering as long as it is recommended by the CDC.

  • Steps For Mountain Visitors To Take:

    • Medical masks or cloth face coverings are encouraged. We will have a limited number of single-use, free masks and gloves available on-site.

    • Anyone who has been in contact with someone ill in the last 14 days, who is feeling ill themselves, or who has symptoms outlined by the North Carolina Department of Public Health should not attend an event at The Mountain until they have been cleared by a health professional or have been symptom free for more than 14 days.

    • Maintain recommendations for six-foot distance between yourself and others.

    • Wash hands frequently and/or use hand sanitation measures supplied at stations throughout The Mountain.

Final Note: We will be doing everything that is recommended by health professionals to make the experience a safe one and The Mountain Retreat & Learning Center, its employees and representatives assume no liability for "bodily injury" or "property damage" or "personal and advertising injury" arising out of the actual or alleged transmission of a communicable disease.
